On Friday, May 16, 2014, the Cape Cod Genealogical Society Writer's Special Interest Group will be sponsoring a two hour introductory workshop, at 10 AM, at the Brewster Ladies Library. This workshop is open, free of charge to members, and at a cost of $5 to non-members.
The presenter will be Alice Plouchard Stelzer, who will take us through the writing process --from making the preliminary decisions that need to be made before starting your writing process and continuing with setting appropriate goals for the outcome you want. Along the way, there will be discussion of the creative process, audience, story scope, formats, organization, truthfulness, research, citations, themes, timelines, and points of universality, along with how to best delve into the who, what, where, when, and especially, why.
Alice has had extensive experience as a writer for over 25 years and has been a mentor/coach for other writers. She has taught many writing workshops and writing courses. Most recently, she has published her first book, Female Adventurers Who Helped Colonize Massachusetts and Connecticutt.
If you have ever thought about writing about your family research, either for publication or just to share with your extended family, this is your opportunity to learn how to go about it. Come prepared to work!
