Mayflower Passengers, 1620 : Featured library resource for March 2014

Thanks to member and library volunteer Brenda Hayes we have two new pamphlets that summarize and index the information contained in the "silver books" published by the Massachusetts Society of Mayflower Descendants.

Both pamphlets are authored by Scott Andrew Bartley, former editor of the Mayflower Descendant.  Mayflower passengers, 1620, is the second edition (published 2006) and updates a previous pamphlet published in 1992.  It lists the latest authoritative information about each Mayflower passenger, including parentage, birth and death, marriages, and information sources about descendants.  Here's a link to a brief review of the book.

Mayflower last names for four generations, published 2009, provides a name index to the silver books.  Generally the silver books cover five generations, so it would have been nice if this index extended to the fifth generation, but it doesn't. Still, if you are looking to identify a Mayflower connection, this handy index could be a very efficient way of making that connection.

We encourage you to visit our Genealogy Room, located at the Dennis Public Library in Dennisport, to have a look at these new additions to the collection.
