New England Conference in April

The 12th New England Regional Genealogical Conference (NERGC) will take place in Manchester, NH on April 18-20, 2013 at the Radisson Hotel. Cape Cod Genealogical Society is one of the sponsoring organizations. This event, which only happens every 2nd year, is entitled "Woven in History: The Fabric of New England".

An outstanding opportunity to learn from a great variety of genealogical experts from around the nation, this event provides a chance in one place for three days to gain information about genealogical methods, how to get around "brick walls", how history and genealogy are interconnected, and much more. In addition, the Exhibit Hall is a display of the latest genealogical products and data sources for genealogists. An added feature nearby the conference hotel is the American-Canadian Genealogial Society headquarters, where conference attendees can also conduct their own research into any Canadian-root topic.

Each member Society is asked to provide some volunteer hours by their attendees at the conference--opportunities such as posting signs, introducing speakers, helping at the registration table, and more, are available to select from, thus helping our Society to achieve its expected hours without interfering at all with attendees' chances of listening to all speakers of their choosing.  As soon as you register, tell us at the address below and we can send you the information on how to choose your volunteering opportunity.

Members are encouraged to consider car-pooling and sharing of hotel rooms.  For on-line conference registrsation, go to the website or contact NERGC 2013 Registration, c/o Mary Choppa, 131 Concord St., Nashua, NH 03064.  Make your hotel reservation at the Radisson by calling 800-967-9033, and specify the NERGC conference so as to obtain the lower conference room rate. Parking is available for $10 per day.

NOTE: Be sure to take advantage of the early-bird conference registration rate of $110, which ends on February 28; after that date, conference registration rises to $135.  Questions? Contact David Martin at or Suzanne Walton at
