World War II Records Free on Ancestry.com

To commemorate the 70th anniversary of Pearl harbor, Ancestry.com has announced it is offering free access to its entire World War II collection December 6-7, 2011. Ancestry's WWII collection "includes the most comprehensive set of WWII Navy Muster Rolls ever released online and exclusive Pearl Harbor veteran records."

According to research done by Ancestry, "One in five Americans is a direct descendant of a WWII veteran, with four out of five having a WWII veteran in their families." None of us can pass up this opportunity to search the collection free and from home.

Begin searching at www.ancestry.com/pearlharbor. Below the familiar Ancestry search box is a link for downloading an excellent 3-page research guide with tips on how to search the records and what information can be gathered from them.

To view the records, visitors without an Ancestry.com subscription account will need to log in with their free account or register for one when asked. Registration is simple and free.
