Joint Meeting with Falmouth--Driving and Food

Everyone is looking forward to the annual Joint Meeting with the Falmouth Genealogical Society on Saturday, November 12, 2012 at St. Peter's Church in Osterville. (See the other announcement on this blog site for topic details on the presentations by genealogist Dick Eastman).

Some further information will be helpful:
1. Directions--to get to St. Peter's, take Route 6 to Exit 5, and drive south on Route 149 (be sure to bear right to follow the 149 sign shortly after you enter 149).Continue on Route 149 southward, going around a roundabout, continuing straight to its end at Route 28, where you turn left at a light.Take a right turn at the next traffic light, which is called South County Road. That road becomes Main Street in Osterville--continue through the center of Osterville (bearing a slight right in Osterville Center); continue straight when Main Street turns into Wianno Avenue.  Continue straight on Wianno Avenue, passing a Catholic Church on your left, and about a mile later, you will see St. Peter's Episcopal Church on the right. The church is under reconstruction; turn right into the parking lot just before the church. If the lot is full, it is ok to park on either side of Wianno Avenue. Come in the back entrance off the parking lot into the Parish Hall, which will be open; walk through the kitchen to the Auditorium.

2. Food--Because the proceedings go from 10am to 3pm, with 3 different presentations, everyone is invited to bring a brown-bag lunch. However, we have another great opportunity! Judy Fenner, Past President of Falmouth Genealogical Society and member of St. Peter's Church, will provide a lobster roll lunch (with chips and brownie) for $9.95 if we place orders with her by November 8. Proceeds go to a charity.Contact Judy at to reserve this lunch instead of doing a brown bag.  Morning coffee will be provided.
