Annual CCGS Luncheon

Our Annual Luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday June 15, 2011 at The Olde Yarmouth Inn at 223 Route 6A, Yarmouth Port, MA.

Melinde Lutz Byrne
Melinde Lutz Byrne, F. A.S.G. will be our Speaker for this event.  She will speak on Learning New Things from the Great Migration Study Project. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Melinde holds degrees and certificates in anthropology, library science and archival management.  She did serials acquisitions for the Tozzer Anthropological Library at Harvard University and has been a self-employed genealogist since 1976.

Melinde currently edits the New Hampshire Genealogical Record and co-edits the National Genealogical Society Quarterly.  She has published extensively and in 1993 was elected a Fellow of the American Society of Genealogists.

As Boston University Program Director of the Genealogical Research Certificate Program, she designed and staffed the five modules for the Center for Professional Education.  She also teaches a module on Forensic Genealogy.  Her current projects include culling ages from pre-1700 court and medical records and biographies of the first 200 Africans in the Massachusetts Bay Colony.

The Annual Luncheon begins at 11:30 am with a Social Hour followed by our meal at 12:30 pm.  There will be a choice of 4 Entrees and the cost is $25.00.  All current members of the Cape Cod Genealogical Society should be receiving their reservation form in the mail this week.  If you have not received it, or are interested in additional information,  please contact Melvina H.
