Many people who have carried out genealogical research reach the point where they are ready to begin putting that information into some kind of organized print form, to be shared with family members and others. The Society has now planned to offer a special 3-part series to enable all interested members and others to develop a written family history in an organized way.
The first session will take place on Saturday, August 20, 2011, at the Dennis Public Library in Dennis Port, MA from 9am to noon; the leader of the session will be Ms. Cheryl Somers Aubin, an experienced teacher of writing and past instructor at the annual Cape Cod Writers' Workshop. This session will emphasize ways of organizing the memoir, practice in starting to write, and considerations for completing the work in a timely way.
A follow-up workshop for those who actually start their writing will be held on Saturday, September 24 at the Brewster Ladies' Library, from 9am to noon; another followup workshop will be held later in the Fall on a date to be determined by the group.
Registration fee is $15 for the series.
To sign up for the series, print and return the registration form (pdf).
Questions about the series may be directed to David Martin at firstname.lastname@example.org.
